First day was all about laminating the veneer layers together. These pics show all ten decks, glued and in the TAP bags.
We designed the course so no power tools are needed to build the decks. Here I am showing how to use the sureform tool for roughing out the edge of the deck.
Day two is the most demanding day on the kids. They rough out the decks, round off the edges and start the sanding of the edges.
Day three gets easier. This is when they start working on their designs they will paint on the bottoms of the decks.
Norah gives them a lesson on deck design.
Day four ends with many empty spray cans of paint. The designs are done, all that is left is to peel the masking tape to reveal the masterpieces.
Day five we did a grip tape contest. The lucky winner goes home with a complets deck kit.
Trucks and wheels are mounted. The decks are complete.
The group, up in the air!
